Meet the WBP Team

The White Bike Productions' team was quickly formed by Lorenza Maksimow's passion. Through her connections, she put this team together with excitement to produce The John Breaux documentary. Its' premier, a short 12-minute film was featured at the Broomfield Film Series in May, 2009. The presentation was made possible with the help of Howard Zaremba of Boulder Valley Channel 22. This festival is where Alan O'Hashi and Kevin Zwack got excited about being part of the Production Team. Another team member, Don Souza, is one of Lorenza's classmates from Wangenheim Junior H.S. in San Diego, who connected through FACEBOOK'S social networking technologies. Richard Cueto is a long time family friend of the Briones, from Mexico City, for more than 50 years. Steven Replin, Esq., quickly joined the Team after being most inspired by hearing the story of John Breaux.


Executive Producer - Lorenza Maksimow

is the driving force behind WBP. Lorenza has always had a passion for getting people together and making things happen. She was responsible for organizing a Latina Health Fair: Dia de la Mujer Latina, where she joined 30+ community service and nonprofit organizations to offer a free health education and health assessment fair for the community in the City of Lafayette. In September, 2006, she was one of the Colorado Rockies Adult Leadership Award Recipient, recognized for her dedication to her community and for her success in organizing people and communities to create leadership and advocacy organizations.

Lorenza accomplished an Administration of Justice degree, Law Office Management Associates Degree, and is a ABA Accredited Certified Paralegal at Miramar College in San Diego, California since 1991. Ms. Maksimow's received a B.S. in Business Administration: emphasis: Marketing and E-Commerce from Regis University. In 2002, Lorenza continued onto Graduate School at Regis for her Masters in Nonprofit Management. She continues her professional and practical education by immersing herself in Organizing, Fundraising, Business Development and Paralegal work. Lorenza was the Chair for the Latino Advisory Board for City Council, in Lafayette; serving 3 years - through June 2009. Lorenza's 18 years Paralegal experience has been in a variety of fields; including, Intellectual Property, Real Estate, Personal Injury, Child Support Enforcement, Wrongful Death, Criminal, Corporate, to name a few. She is motivated by advocacy and political activism and takes strong stands for her community, especially for the elder community; hence, the motivating passion for Elder Law. Additionally, In 2002, Lorenza organized and founded MANA de Metro Denver, a local chapter of MANA, a National Latina organization. Lorenza’s great strengths are that she is ambitious, motivated and project-oriented in any undertaking. She welcomes new challenges and always “finds a way” in accomplishing her goals and focus on the community. She is excited to have the opportunity to work in human interest stories and the entertainment industry, and is delving into the this Industry and its' fascinating Law. Lorenza has two daughters: Cassie - 15 and Elise -12, who certainly love and support her community work and have learned to express much "flexibility" to support their Mother.

 


Producer / Post Producer - Richard Cueto

Assisting Ms. Maksimow will be Richard Cueto. Now living in Los Angeles, California, Richard’s more than 20 years experience in service marketing, market research and analysis his technical audio/video post-production skills, become the final compliment to WBP. His involvement with many post-production companies, as well as founding his own company, Linc Research, Inc., where he is the liaison between clients and facilities, as well as production, post-production and special effects editing and supervision, will prove to be indispensable.

 


Director - Alan O’Hashi

Alan O’Hashi is a native of Wyoming and now resides in Boulder, Colorado. Lately working mostly with community based media producers, organizations, and socially-responsible businesses, Alan may be referred to as a niche TV and movie producer. He’s been involved with community journalism since 1963 and is an avid sports fan.
Kaeru Productions, Alan’s own production group, is dedicated to democratizing electronic media on the large and small screens, printed page and stage by providing sustainable and community-based albeit not always politically-popular content. Alan has produced and directed: The Webster Street Blues - Spring 2004; Stardust - Summer 2005; A Little Bit of Discipline - Fall 2006; Gold Digger - Fall 2007; Adobo - Fall 2008; Boulder Asian Film Festival Director.

Associate DP/Editor - Kevin Zwack

Kevin is the founder and president of Aeolian Productions, LLC. Kevin has almost 32 years of audio mixing experience, 21 years of still photography experience, and for over five years has been making short and long form documentary videos (approximately 50). Most of Kevin's video work has been for non-profits and local churches. Kevin has made several documentaries for the non-profit Wild Animal Sanctuary in Keenesburg Colorado which have helped them to raise several million dollars. Some of Kevin's other clients include the Center for Safe Schools, Employees of Champion Air, Shaklee Independent Distributors, Software AG, StorageTek, Sun Microsystems, and Woman Come Forth Ministries.Originally from St. Paul, Kevin has lived in Colorado since 1980. Kevin is currently enrolled in a distance learning program at Colorado Theological Seminary studying theology. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys bicycling, hiking, camping, and animals---especially dogs. Kevin attends services at Flatirons Community Church where he first met John Breaux.

 


Scott Weeden is our Public Relations Coordinator, Publications Editor, Reporter and Marketing Communications Liaison. With thirty-five years of achievement through results-oriented communications with magazines, newsletters, newspapers, brochures and catalogs as well as extensive expertise in magazine and newsletter management, public relations, advertising, shareholder and employee communications, and media relations in various industries. Scott received a BS in Journalism, from Oklahoma State University (1973). With business experience as a Managing Editor for LNG Express, Remote Gas Strategies, Energy Commerce, Latin American Gas and Upstream CIO newsletters. Scott wrote, edited and proofed monthly newsletters, boosted LNG Express readership and maintained the newsletter as the largest revenue producer for the company for eight out of 11 years.

Scott was the Marketing/Communications Manager, Landmark Education, San Francisco, California. He wrote and edited copy for company’s first website to promote the firm’s educational programs; developed marketing communications for Landmark’s business subsidiary.



Executive Production Assistant - Alicia Farwell

Alicia will be the production assistant. She will also be assisting the Executive Producer and the production team during pre-production. Alicia graduated from Silver Creek High School, Longmont, Colorado in 2006. in Longmont, Colorado. Thus far, has completed one year of college at University of Northern Colorado, and is working towards her degree in Early Childhood Education. Alicia is very dedicated to her spiritual community, Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette, Colorado. She will be assisting the entire WBP Team in many aspects. She is detail oriented and is always willing to go the extra mile; and do what it takes to get the job done. As one of the site/group administrators for the John Breaux Facebook page, which currently has 4,499 members, she is responsible for reviewing, responding to posts, blogs, group, and maintains a working document of new media releases. Alicia has already spearheading and organizing one of our fundraising events and will be coordinating volunteers in the near future.


Replin & Rhoades, LLC - Steve Replin

Steve Replin’s education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting; a Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from NYU with distinction; a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from the University Of Denver College of Law; and an LL.M. (master of laws) from the NYU School of Law, in Taxation. Additionally, he holds a Certified Public Accountants certificate (CPA) issued in the State of Colorado. He has had experience in the areas of intellectual property law, business and commercial finance, early stage business planning and development, fashion design and retailing, entertainment finance, and other affiliated areas throughout his career.

His practice includes the representation of film makers, writers, musicians, studios, museums, those in the fashion industry, and all others in the creative arts. Defining creative arts broadly, he enjoys dealing with creative clients building careers in a broad variety of endeavors. In addition, he focuses on new and small business issues, contract preparation, negotiation, and other transactional matters.

He is currently representing a fund being formed to finance the production of independent feature film projects, as well as a fund to finance those in the fashion industry. He has also just published a book dealing with the issue of where entrepreneurs can go to obtain financing without utilizing a bank.
