Press Release
A Living Legacy of Fostering Random Acts of Kindness
Whether it was picking up trash along the side of the road; or shoveling snow at local schools; or cleaning up the pews after every church service, and not only on Sunday mornings, John Breaux was always there to help others, never asking for anything in return. He was a living example of the difference one person can make with random acts of kindness. In January 2009, John Breaux lost his life and was killed by a driver, as he was picking up trash on the side of the road. The Lafayette, Louisville, and surrounding communities of Boulder County, Colorado, lost his immesurable contribution to the spirit and well-being of these northern Colorado cities.
“I can remember watching John shovel snow right around the corner from my house. I would talk to John through the fence from the back of my house, which met at the middle school next, as he picked up trash. There are numerous stories about John riding home during the Winter without his coat because he had given it to a friend, as everyone was his friend. It is that unselfishness that we want to immortalize,” emphasized Lorenza Maksimow, Executive Producer, White Bike Productions, LLC. "He was an integral part of the communities and made a huge impact on thousands of people, who turned out en masse for his funeral. John Breaux’s legacy of performing random acts of kindness will be kept alive", she continued.
"White Bike Productions, formed to commemorate his unselfishness, will create a documentary about his life. John Breaux’s life was a wonderful, inspirational and unusual story of how the deeds of one man touched many people and how those people’s lives were changed", she explained. The new company is predicated on making John Breaux a living legacy for communities throughout the world. Out of that, the long-term vision of White Bike Productions is to create other documentaries of the contributions of individuals, community issues and human-interest stories will be produced. "However, John Breaux’s story will be the first", she noted.
The objective of the documentary about John Breaux is to create and to share his extraordinary story in a way that other communities will engage in even more random acts of kindness, touching on many aspects that deal with community and personal issues. This film will be created and funded strictly through, Boulder Community Media, a non-profit organization, acting as the fiscal agent. Lorenza assisted and worked closely with John's family, who live in the community, in many capacities. After several months of hard efforts and initiating contact for Breaux's family to create a fund in John Breaux's name in order to allow the City of Louisville, the committee and the sculptor to create a partnership with the Community Foundation of Boulder County, such fund is in the process of being set up in John Breaux’s name and will be administered by the foundation; however, there has been no partnership or agreements set forth to include the documentary. "Although, the expectations has never been to rely on such funds, nor do benefits exists for White Bike Productions through its' non profit fiscal agency for funds to be gained for this documentary or any other media production. However, I am eager to hear what sorts of programs this fund will benefit causes that will carry on what John Breaux loved so much – giving to others from the heart. Furthermore, I am hoping that through White Bike, the Community Foundation will benefit from the documentary, as tell the story behind this beautiful artwork of John exists in the future years as new community citizens learn about John's random acts of kindness and when they wonder about the art work of John that stands at the City of Louisville's street." Maksimow said.
White Bike Productions, through the Boulder Community Media, a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, is seeking donations for the production of the documentary in order to promote, educate and distribute the story of John Breaux and his random acts of kindness to communities throughout the country. The piece can help in numerous ways: it will spread the John Breaux gospel; encourage individuals; promoting a cleaner environment; a fundraising tood for nonprofits; volunteer groups; companies can utilize it to inspire employees to do good; help tutor, encourage communities to participate; teach safety when riding on the road, as well as many other creative ways. As a DVD, it will be available to individuals and organizations to pursue "to be like John" and what he did with his life.
The WBP team are experienced professionals in their respective positions and are inspired by John Breaux and very passionate about this documentary. The WBP team is currently on a volunteer status; however, the current funding status has not prevented the pre-production efforts from being put forward. "I believe sharing and connecting the White Bike Productions team together about how amazing John was in the community has led and inspired our team to work together. Now, they are counting on me to raise the funds for the production costs, so I have quite a bit of work to do. I am also confident that John's family and the community will be happy to see its' success." Maksimow stated.
John Breaux is a special example of “PAY IT FORWARD” who just did things for others, expecting nothing in return and this tool can help create a domino effect. For further information, contact Maksimow at 303-665-5921 or Scott Weeden, publicist, 720-427-8408. You can also email us at:
